The Empire Returns: Austenasia Reclaims Its Crown

Since June 2025, Austenasia has been formally known as the Commonwealth of Austenasia, following the deposition of Emperor Aggelos I. The move came after he attempted to call an early general election in breach of the General Elections Act of 2020. The period of interregnum is now set to conclude, with the government announcing plans to restore the country’s former title as the Empire of Austenasia.

Traditionally, Austenasia has been governed by an Emperor, though the position has remained vacant since the former ruler’s removal. In an interview with the Austenasian Times, Lord Musgrave said the government was in discussions to appoint a successor. Lord Musgrave currently serves as Prime Minister and Lord Protector, and is acting as Regent to the Crown.

“Things are starting to settle down now, and my government is in current negotiations to formally appoint a new Emperor,” he said, adding that “ensuring stability and continuity is the most important priority… after nearly a year of turmoil and confusion.”

It is also understood that the government has drawn up a new line of succession.

The Austenasian Times will continue to update this story as details unfold.
