Prime Minister Andrew Musgrave has today announced a new Cabinet, marking the first ministerial appointments since June 2025 and introducing a streamlined structure intended to better reflect the current needs of the Empire.
The new Cabinet reduces the number of ministerial portfolios while consolidating related responsibilities into broader departments. The changes are intended to simplify government administration whilst ensuring that all key areas of responsibility remain represented.
The appointments are as follows:
- Home Secretary – Andrew Musgrave
- Minister of Culture and Digital Transformation – Andrew Musgrave
- Treasurer – Andrew Musgrave
- Minister of Justice – Cornelius Cain
- Minister of Intelligence and National Security – Emiel van der Huijsen, who will also serve as the new Editor-in-Chief of the Austenasian TImes
- Minister of Foreign Affairs – Rilgard Ompastre
One of the most notable changes is the creation of the Minister of Intelligence and National Security, bringing together responsibilities relating to national security, intelligence, cybersecurity and defence policy within a single portfolio. The position replaces the previous stand-alone defence ministry, reflecting the practical requirements of the Empire.
The Government has also established the Austenasian Security Service (A.S.S.) as the Empire’s principal security and intelligence organisation, replacing the State Intelligence Agency (S.I.A.). The service will operate under the authority of the Minister of Intelligence and National Security.
The Ministry of Culture has likewise been expanded into the Ministry of Culture and Digital Transformation, recognising the growing importance of Austenasia’s online infrastructure, digital services and technological development alongside its traditional cultural responsibilities.
The new Cabinet takes effect immediately.
